2023-2024

Annual General Meeting

The fifth AGM business session was held in Montreal, Quebec from April 4-6, 2024 at the Hilton Garden Inn. The weekend was filled with resident panels, professional development and wellness breakout sessions and an inspiring keynote presentation. Throughout the conference, we welcomed over 140 students from 16 Canadian medical schools.

The main goal of the 2024 AGM was to strategize around important issues pertaining to the Black experience in medicine and Black health in Canada and share ideas around our theme of “Breaking Down and Building Up”- to prepare today’s Black medical students for tomorrow’s challenges. We reviewed the BMSAC’s progress as an organization over the last 5 years and discussed future directions aimed at improving the healthcare experiences of Black Canadians.
